As part of Metrasens’ ongoing strategy of continual innovation and intellectual property protection we are pleased to announce we have now taken assignment of a number of patents from QinetiQ Limited.
In the last four months we have also obtained grant of our own new patents in USA and Europe in two core families and allowance of six more in USA, China and Japan from three other patent families covering the magnetic detection platform which is at the heart of our MRI safety and security products.
The patents assigned from QinetiQ include US 7113092, titled “Ferromagnetic Object Detector” which relates to the use of magnetic with non-magnetic sensors to detect ferromagnetic objects for MRI Safety and for a range of security applications.
The recently granted patents (US 9514624 and EP2606387, US9995713 and EP2725973) cover features designed to optimize usability in MRI safety applications, and the use of a separate pre-screening device.
These patents add to Metrasens’ growing reputation for innovation directed at helping to make the world a safer place. The company was recently awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the UK’s most prestigious business award, in the category of Innovation.
